This weekend Colin Powell defended his support of Barack Obama while at the same time claiming to be a Republican.
The one question I would have liked Bob Schieffer to have asked Mr. Powell while he was on Face the Nation is, "You say that you've voted for the person who is best qualified to be President. You believe that Barack Obama was more qualified to be President than John McCain. Of the entire field of Republican candidates, was there a single person among them whom you would consider to have been more qualified to be President than Barack Obama?"
If Colin Powell prefers the most liberal member of the U.S. Senate over the most moderate of the Republican Presidential candidates, it's hard to imagine why he would even want to remain a Republican. It's even harder to imagine why any Republicans would want him to.

Colin Powell is just showing his true colors, if you know what I mean.
ReplyDeleteAs much as it sucks that race is a part of this, it is. No question that Obama being elected has had wonderful impacts in the area of race on many fronts. This country needed 'this' to happen - 'this' being a black man (at least half) to win the election. Again, it is unfortunate that race is involved at all.
ReplyDeleteI'm just sad that this event was wasted on a arrogant freshman extremist like Obama.
haven't heard anything from you in a while :(
