This morning at least two hundred people met on a cold corner at the Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri to express their outrage over the various "stimulus" and bailout packages being forced upon America by President Obama and the Democrats in Congress. They then proceeded to walk about a mile to the Kansas City office of Senator Claire McCaskill, who eagerly supports the bailouts.
The turnout, no doubt, would have been even larger if there hadn't been a fresh padding of several inches of snow on the ground.
Many passing drivers honked their horns in support--the highlight of which was a snow plow driver, which drew cheers from the crowd.
The pro-bailout people were represented by at least two people. There was a passing driver who made his objections clear to the protesters, yelling out "You guys suck!" And there was also a young lady who, believe it or not, was already intoxicated shortly after 11 AM, accosting some of the protesters as they walked back to their cars.

Congrats to all those that took the time to go out on a cold snow covered day to participate. I'm just sorry I only found out about the KC event this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteIf we have to rally together in order to get our voices heard, let's have more protests like these. It's time that Obama, McCaskill, & all the other irresponible politicians hear from those of us who work too hard for our money to let the government take it all away from us!
Joy
We had a great time, snow and all. I'm getting my pictures of my camera now and will post/share. Stay tuned and watch for the next scheduled Tea Party/Stimulus Protest. If we can bring 200 patriots together in the cold snow on a Saturday, we can triple that number (or more!) with some better weather.
ReplyDeleteI am so proud of Kansas City!!!
You guys are great!!! I'm so sorry I missed it but with 5 inches on the ground and being 35 miles away, I decided it was fool hardy to go out. So I stayed home and shoveled snow like a responsible citizen.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you were well represented. Kudos!
Thanks, Great pictures.

ReplyDeleteThis is soo cool my wife and I drove 2 hours from Joplin to be here, we were not about to let a little snow keep our voices from being heard. way to go K.C.!
ReplyDeleteKyle, you and your wife ROCK!! Those of us that are local (I drove from Belton) think of you long haulers as true patriots. Thank you for showing us your spirit!
ReplyDeleteIf you want to give the feds a tea party, work with your state lawmakers so that they repeal the 16th Amendment, the amendment that gives the feds the power to tax citizens directly. The problem with that amendment is that it makes it too easy for the corrupt federal government to lay constitutionally unauthorized taxes, in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, noting that the Founders made the federal Constitution to limit (cripple) the powers of the federal government, the 10th Amendment reserving the lion's share of government power to serve the people to the states, Chief Justice Marshall had established the following case precedent which appropriately limits the power of the feds to lay taxes.
"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States." --Chief Justice Marshall, GIBBONS V. OGDEN (1824)
Also, consider that the stimulus package can be thought of as the federal government returning money to the states that it stole from the states in the first place.
Again, the 16th Amendment needs to be repealed ASAP!
I wuz there - it wuz wet, it wuz cold, it wuz fun!
ReplyDeleteI'm in Dixie and I'm so proud of all you guys and gals from Kansas City along with each and every city and town that participated in this.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless you all and keep up the great work !

ReplyDeleteFor the next march -and there will be one as more people get fed up- have announcements in advance. I didn't know until Friday and I work Saturdays and have to give a two week notice to get schedule changed. Think it was great and it must have been a great release of frustrations.
ReplyDeleteThis was a most excellent event and well worth the 3.5 hour drive for me. I am an Iowan and this was the closest event. We need to make our voices heard. If there are other protests, I will participate in those too. This is too important to ignore and not take any action.
ReplyDeleteBy the Way, We as Americans Rock! And we will take our contry back. Never give up!
"Don't tax me, bro!"
ReplyDeleteOh what a cold day that was... but I'm glad I was a part of it. At least now I can say I did something, not just sit on my couch and complain!!!
